With my friends from our Innovate to
Motivate 2004 Conference, l to r: Renee Walker, Manager, Kelly Services, Inc.; Mary Schell, Vice President,
Government Relations, Wendy's International; Jennifer Goodrum, Regulatory
Affairs Coordinator, International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists;
Kaye Grospitch, Government Liaison Officer, Cleveland State University,
and me.

Some government affairs professionals
are more dedicated than others. Linda Melusky, Government Relations Representative,
Capital Blue Cross, attended every conference workshop in spite of an
ankle fractured in five places! Plus she demonstrated a positive attitude
in spite of it all.

Graham Dodson, Director of Corporate
Communications, American Electric Power, and Mary Schell, Vice President
of Government Relations, Wendy's International, Inc., determine the best
ways to measure PAC and grassroots progress during Amy and Peter's "Counting
Isn't Enough" workshop.

Susan Goodman, Director, Legislative
Awareness, Southwest Airlines and Lori Joubert, Specialist, Legislative
Awareness, Southwest Airlines. Susan conducted a workshop on "high-touch"
grassroots.

One of Innovate to Motivate's highest
rated speakers is Greg Coker, Director of Government Affairs at BellSouth
Corporation. Here he takes a breather during his "Achieving Peak
Communications" workshop.

Another highly-rated Innovate to Motivate
faculty member is Kelton Rhoads, PhD. Here Kelton teaches the use and
misuse of propaganda in influence campaigns.

Susan Goodman, Director of Legislative Awareness, Southwest
Airlines (l) and Tiffany Adams, Vice President, Public Affairs, National
Association of Manufacturers (r), connect after Tiffany's workshop on
how to increase productivity through efficient volunteer utilization.

One of the hallmarks of Innovate to Motivate is the co-founders
and faculty's emphasis on interactive learning exercises. Here, Angie
Thies-Huber, Director of Grassroots and Constituent Relations, American
Cancer Society, Ohio Division, and Carrie Langdon, Communications Manager,
International Paper, completes their exercise.
